Senior Process Engineer, Workforce Staffing
Job : | Services LLC
At Amazon, we are working to be the most customer‑centric company on earth. Workforce Staffing (WFS) is Amazon's high‑volume hiring engine, responsible for attracting, hiring, and onboarding hundreds of thousands of associates annually across global operations. WFS partners with Operations, People Experience, Technology, Finance, and related teams to deliver a world‑class candidate and associate experience while continuously driving down cost per hire and improving quality of hire through process innovation, operational rigor, and data‑driven decision making.
The Process Engineering team within WFS Transformations is a globally diverse group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement across the WFS network. The team establishes and executes benchmark operating standards, accelerates implementation of technology advancements and AI‑driven automation, and strengthens process knowledge for operational leaders across WFS programs worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Set the strategic direction for process engineering across WFS, defining the multi‑year roadmap for variation reduction, automation, and AI adoption.
- Influence senior leadership on prioritization, investment decisions, and resource allocation.
- Serve as the connective tissue between field operations, technology, continuous improvement, program management, and leadership—translating field‑level insights into strategic recommendations and converting leadership vision into actionable engineering solutions.
- Engineer and optimize both FC manufacturing processes (onboarding stations, hiring event layouts, orientation flows) and corporate workflows (requisition management, candidate pipelines, compliance reporting) using Lean, Six Sigma, and simulation‑based capacity analysis.
- Champion AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation opportunities across recruiting workflows.
- Build business cases, design automation solutions, and lead technology implementations including ATS, workforce management tools, and AI‑enabled platforms.
- Build scalable frameworks and methodologies that enable program managers, field leaders, and operational teams to independently apply process engineering principles.
- Establish and mature a Quality Management System (QMS), lead audits, and drive continuous improvement globally.
- Own executive reporting on variation reduction impacts and contribute to OP1/OP2 planning.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives, program launches, and mentor process engineers on methodology.
- Travel up to 50% to FCs and WFS locations globally.
No two days look the same. Monday, you present a variation reduction strategy to a VP. Tuesday, you attend a Fulfillment Center hiring event and conduct a tactic time study. Wednesday, you align a technology team with field operators. Thursday, you build automation that eliminates a manual process that was previously debated.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Program Management, Human Resources, Employment Law, Computer Science, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in process engineering, process improvement, or operations management.
- Experience driving AI capabilities and applying artificial intelligence or machine learning to improve operational processes.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to identify process bottlenecks, quantify improvement impact, and track program outcomes.
- Experience mentoring or developing other engineers or program managers.
- Experience managing or developing a team of process engineers or operational specialists.
