A respected and growing civil infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Underground Construction Foreman to lead field operations supporting underground utility, traffic signal, and roadway lighting projects throughout the region. WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead daily field operations for underground utility and heavy civil construction projects.
- Direct and mentor construction crews while promoting a culture centered on safety, accountability, and quality workmanship.
- Review construction drawings and project plans to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities to maintain project schedules.
- Monitor job progress and proactively resolve field challenges to minimize delays.
- Partner with project management, inspectors, municipalities, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.
- Schedule utility locates, inspections, lane closures, and other project requirements before construction begins.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations, project specifications, and company standards.
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools while promoting proper care throughout the field team.
- Travel to active project sites as needed throughout the assigned territory.
- Five or more years of experience in underground utilities, heavy civil construction, traffic signal installation, roadway lighting, or closely related infrastructure projects preferred.
- Previous experience leading field crews as a Foreman, Supervisor, Crew Leader, or similar construction leadership role.
- Strong ability to read and interpret underground utility, roadway lighting, traffic signal, and construction plans.
- Experience coordinating multiple active projects while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) is required.
- Working knowledge of transportation infrastructure construction practices and industry standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‐solving abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, productive, and team‑oriented work environment.
- Willingness to travel to project locations as business needs require.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Background supporting public infrastructure or Department of Transportation projects.
- Background supporting the installation and construction of transportation infrastructure, including street lighting, traffic control equipment, roadway signs, and underground utility systems.
- Knowledge of state and municipal construction standards and permitting processes.
