Job Summary:
Screen & route incoming callsusing electronic attendant console.
Provide instructions & assistance to callers within and outside the medical center.
- Process all incoming/outgoing calls
- Answer emergency calls & alarms and follow SOP regarding routing/ reporting
- Maintain appropriate records
- Perform overhead paging services as required within the hospital
- Provide general information as requested (I.e. visiting hours)
- Provide pager distribution within the hospital for specific VA employees
- High School Diploma/GED
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
- Must have a good speaking voice.
- Minimal typing involved to access phone directory
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to work any rotating shift if needed
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
- Must work well in a team environment & possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, decision-making and prioritization skills.
- Further Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time - Must have dependable transportation to and from work
