Total annual salary will consist of a GS Base Pay rate combined with a non-locality 'Market Pay' supplement. Market pay is determined by an Activity Compensation Panel.

About the Position

This position is located within Blanch field Army Community Hospital's Dental Health Activity (DENTAC) facilities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience;

Basic Requirement for Dentist (General Practice Dentistry)

Degree: Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Medical Requirement: Applicants must be able to distinguish shades of color. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below.

  • Residency Program:
    Successful completion a two-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science.
  • -OR-
  • Qualifying

    Experience:

    Must possess two-years of professional dentistry experience and/or training, equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-11).
  • -OR-
  • Residency Program/Qualifying

    Experience:

    Must have completed a residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science
    -AND- possess professional dentistry experience and/or training equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-11). When combining residency program and qualifying experience and/or training to qualify, the total must be equal to or greater than two-years.

Experience:

Qualifying experience involves the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area. Examples of dentistry experience may include the removal of decay; filling cavities; straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth; treating gum diseases; performing corrective surgery; making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth, administering anesthetics, writing prescriptions; and performing other requirements of the position.

If you are selected for a Physician position: A salary quote will not be provided to you at the time of the initial job offer. The salary determination process begins after the initial job offer is accepted. This consists of the Activity Compensation Panel adding base pay and market pay to determine your starting salary and this will be provided to you once approved.
