Join us for the Biology (Physiology), Tenure-Track Faculty role at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU)
The Department of Biology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in physiology at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.
MTSU seeks candidates committed to innovative teaching, robust research/creative activity, and meaningful service. We also seek to attract culturally and academically diverse faculty who value working with diverse students.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct independent research and mentor students (undergraduate, MS, and PhD) at a level that will gain national and international recognition. Teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels will be expected.
A terminal degree in biology, physiology, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date. Applicants with post-doctoral research experience, a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, and grant or fellowship funding that reflects high productivity commensurate with the applicant’s current career stage will receive special consideration.
