The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#129030) in sociology at the rank of assistant or associate professor, with research and teaching focused on health, illness, and healthcare systems. The start date is August 1, 2026.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including those with a focus on health, illness, and healthcare systems.
• Maintain an active research agenda with potential for external funding with a focus on health, illness, and healthcare systems.
• Advise and mentor students from varied social and economic backgrounds.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.

Required

Education:

A terminal degree in sociology is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables: Applicants who can contribute to the department's focus on applied and practice-oriented sociology will receive special consideration.
