Position: Program Assistant 4-H Youth Development - Moore County

Program Assistant 4-H Youth Development - Moore County

The successful candidate will be a member of TSU and Moore County Extension
. This position is 100% 4-H Youth Development and will be responsible for implementing, evaluating, and reporting 4-H Youth Development educational programs as needed in the county. The position includes executing programs, events, and activities through traditional 4-H clubs, project groups, educational workshops, camps, conferences, and special interest classes. The assistant will perform other related duties as required by County, Regional, and State Extension Administrators.

Responsibilities
  • Implement, evaluate and report 4-H educational programs
  • Plan and conduct traditional 4-H club meetings, project groups, workshops, camps, conferences, and special interest classes
  • Execute events and activities in collaboration with County, Regional and State Extension staff
  • Document and market program impacts
  • Collaborate effectively with Extension programming personnel at UT and TSU
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in Extension, teaching or other youth development activities (preferred)
  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and overnight travel
  • Access to a personal vehicle and a valid Tennessee driver’s license
  • Knowledge of program planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Proficiency in documenting and marketing program impacts
  • Self‑reliance and initiative in a collaborative setting
Employment Requirements
  • Background check as mandated by Tennessee State University
  • Official transcripts (if required) presented upon hire; unofficial transcripts may be attached during application
