The most meaningful support you can offer a child who achieved 99% is to tell them they fell short of the standard. If that statement makes you uncomfortable, this role isn't for you. If it resonates, continue reading.
At Alpha, students complete their academic work in two hours daily using self‑directed AI‑powered applications. No traditional teachers. No lectures. No classroom‑based subject instruction. This model allows you to focus on what genuinely alters student outcomes: facilitating high‑impact workshops on skills like public speaking, focus, and feedback; using live analytics to motivate students toward 100% goal achievement; and developing the Guides who work with you.
A typical morning might involve a one‑on‑one coaching conversation with a Guide, examining performance data to pinpoint where a cohort is underperforming. By midday you’re facilitating a live student workshop, executing a structured activity on feedback exchange. Afternoons transition to motivation work: engaging individual students, identifying their drivers, and leveraging Alpha’s incentive framework to re‑engage a reluctant middle schooler. You maintain direct responsibility for your own cohort, keeping you grounded in the same competencies you’re training others to build.
You’ve likely been the outlier in traditional education: overly focused on data, too committed to results, too ready to question conventional approaches to student development. Alpha may be the first environment where you truly belong. You’ll begin coaching Guides immediately, and as you demonstrate scalable impact, your authority over campus‑wide program standards expands.
What You Will Be Doing- Facilitating one‑hour live workshops on life skills (public speaking, focus, feedback exchange) for K‑8 cohorts, executing Alpha’s established playbook rather than creating new content
- Conducting motivation sessions that leverage student data and Alpha’s incentive systems (school currency, leaderboards) to achieve 100% goal completion across cohorts
- Developing Guides on program adherence and standards execution, with each coaching interaction yielding specific improvement actions
- Managing your own student cohort while simultaneously coaching other Guides
- Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal completion percentages, and Guide performance indicators weekly to identify underperformance early
- Teaching or tutoring students on academic content. Students progress through self‑paced apps independently, without adult‑led instruction.
- Creating curriculum or developing original lesson content. The playbook is established; execution fidelity is the measure of success, not innovation.
- Training Guides on instructional methods. Guides don’t teach content, so your coaching centers on energy, motivation, and accountability.
- Accepting 99% when the standard is 100%. Maintaining expectations demonstrates your belief in student capability.
- Serving as the "empathy champion" common in traditional schools. Students receive both connection and direct, honest feedback with real accountability.
