Brass Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a part-time Brass Teacher to provide private and group brass lessons in our retail store. In this role you'll teach students of varying ages and skill levels, focusing on technique, tone, reading music, and performance preparation. You'll create lesson plans, track student progress, and communicate with parents and school partners. You'll collaborate with store staff to support rentals, accessories, and events that promote music education.

This position is ideal for brass players passionate about teaching and helping students grow through music in a supportive, education-driven retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group brass lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Develop customized lesson plans focusing on tone, technique, and music literacy
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances
• Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback
• Communicate with parents, guardians, and educators about goals and progress
• Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, sales, and educational events
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Recommend appropriate instruments, accessories, and learning materials
• Manage scheduling and attendance records for students
• Support Music & Arts' mission of expanding access to music education
