AMI Field Service Rep

Job Title

This position is considered a Safety-Sensitive position. Applicants who pass the interview process will be subject to drug and alcohol testing.

The purpose of this position is to initiate and discontinue water service.

• Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.
• Executes work orders for service at customer locations including investigations related to customer complaints, new services cut-on, discontinued service and non-pay cut-offs.
• Investigates possible causes of high-water usage such as leaks, theft and fixture malfunction.
• Conducts manual and radio-read meter readings as necessary.
• Replaces damaged meters, meter boxes and lids as needed.
• Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.
• Maintains safety records for the assigned City vehicle.
• Performs other work as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Performs work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, stretching, or lifting all the time.
• Exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and use of fingers, hands, or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
• Involves routine and frequent exposure to traffic; extreme hot and/or cold; wet and/or humid conditions as work is outdoors year around, often encounters pets and sometimes wildlife.

• Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have six (6) months as an AMI Technician or closely related experience to be considered for AMI Field Representative.

• Must have a valid driver's license.
