DescriptionWe're looking for a Structural Engineer to join the HMB team!

Key Responsibilities- Design of transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber elements
- Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting & review
- Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines, and sometimes clients to complete projects
- Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
- Develop engineers cost estimates
- Guide junior staff by providing direction and constructive feedback
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering
- Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
- Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls
- 5+ years of experience in structural design
- Project and / or Client Management experience is preferred
- Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of structural design projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook - Proficiency with CADD software (preferably Micro Station or AutoCAD)
- Proficiency with structural design software (i.e. Bentley LEAP Bridge, Open Bridge, MDX, MIDAS, etc)
- DOT project experience is preferred
- Ability and willingness to assist with inter-disciplinary projects outside of structural design
