ResponsibilitiesAs part of Malibu’s Product Engineering team, students will assist in the generation, validation, and development of new production processes and innovations for Malibu Boats and Axis Wake products. The role reports to Engineering Management and focuses on:
- Identifying and implementing safety improvements
- Enhancing quality and manufacturing processes
- Developing and applying new designs
- Minimum of 2 years toward a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Strong skills with hand tools and mechanical devices
- Proficiency in driving, docking, and trailering boats
- Computer‑design experience in CAD modeling (AutoCAD/Solid Works) preferred
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Lift/carry up to 50lb
- Frequently climb in/out of boats on trailers and at boat ramps
- Crawl in/out of small spaces in boats (e.g., engine compartment)
- Frequently bend at waist, squat, climb ladders and stairs, kneel on ground, reach above shoulder
- Typical 8 to 10‑hour workdays
- Typical 5‑day work week based on schedule loading
- Occasional overtime
- Required to work indoors and outdoors year‑round, in all weather conditions
- May work alone for extended periods
- Safety glasses required in production areas
