- Assist a Project Manager in the production of project plans, specifications and cost estimates
- Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements and cost
- Identify and analyze the principle design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project's purpose and need
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
- Prepare written technical reports and engineering studies using approved company format
- Direct production work of technicians
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil or agricultural engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
- 3-4 years' experience in civil design - site, commercial and/or residential design
- Tennessee EI/EIT or ability to achieve by reciprocity
- Experience with middle Tennessee jurisdiction entitlement and zoning along with permitting processes and procedures
- Previous preparation of TDEC NOI permit applications and SWPPPs
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office Suite
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Must be reliable and dependable
Demonstrates expertise in civil design, including site, commercial, and residential projects, while effectively utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office Suite for engineering documentation. Strong communication skills support collaboration and project management in compliance with local permitting processes.
