The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking the services of a skilled and capable individual to work as a Senior Analyst in our Supervision (Insurance, Funds and Corporate Authorisations) Department. Reporting to the Principal, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for the regulatory supervision activities for insurance managers and intermediaries, including monitoring performance, analysing regulatory reporting, performing on-sites and undertaking appropriate supervisory actions in accordance with legislation.

• Undertake on-site reviews and analysis of insurance managers and intermediaries, utilising various risk assessment methodologies to evaluate compliance with existing laws, regulations, policies, plans and procedures, identifying risk issues and formulating reports on findings for submission and discussion with management.
• Develop agendas, schedules and attend prudential meetings with insurance managers and intermediaries to discuss findings of reviews, minute discussions/decisions and develop corrective action plans, as appropriate.
• Undertake projects utilising skills related to meeting the department’s supervisory and regulatory responsibilities.
• Monitor the market with a specific focus on developments in the insurance industry (local and international), regulatory bodies/regimes, accounting standards, as well as market information on insurance companies via monitoring of key indicators, newspapers, periodicals, media and relevant websites.
• Work as part of the Supervision team to achieve departmental objectives.
• Perform other related work and special projects assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post.

• Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a financial or accounting discipline from a recognised institution or professional body.
• Have a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience working within a regulated financial services business, preferably as an insurance manager or intermediary.
• Have experience conducting or participating in on‑site reviews.
• Have experience in the evaluation of corporate governance structures, risk management frameworks and/or internal controls.
• Be willing to work outside of normal business hours if required.
