Come and join a great team in a growing city! MURFREESBORO, TN is looking to hire 9-1-1 professionals who are interested in joining a team committed to providing the highest quality level of service for Murfreesboro's citizens and public safety field personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Perform 911 emergency and non-emergency call taker functions and dispatch police, fire, and medical personnel appropriately.
  • Calmly deal with emergency situations and dispassionately and logically communicate with the public, some of whom are under extreme distress.
  • Serve as the critical communications link between our citizens and public safety field personnel.
  • Work in an atmosphere of purpose, learning, and teamwork.
  • Receive quality training and professional development with opportunities for upward mobility into training, quality assurance, supervision, and coordination.
Compensation & Work Schedule
  • Starting at $29.36 hourly. Applicants may qualify for additional experience pay up to $33.22 hourly.
  • Four-Day work week. Three-Day weekend.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience as a Public Safety Telecommunicator working in a Public Safety Answering Point.
Preferred Qualifications
  • No less than forty-five (45) hours of public safety communications coursework that meet the minimum course of study requirements as set forth by the Tennessee Rules of Department of Commerce and Insurance Emergency Communications Board, Chapter 0780-6-2, Dispatcher Training Regulations.
  • Valid N.C.I.C. (National Crime Information Center) or T.I.E.S. (Tennessee Information Enforcement System) certification.
  • Valid Emergency Medical Dispatch and CPR certifications.
  • Been employed as a Public Safety Telecommunicator within the last year.
