Sterile Processing TechnicianThe Sterile Processing Technologist cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases. He/she is responsible for all departmental functions in support of USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
ResponsibilitiesStandard duties include the maintenance, organization, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Qualifications- Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 years’ experience as Instrument Room Technician
- Experience with all types of sterilizers
- Knowledge of operating room instrumentation
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument trays
- Understanding of steam and gravity sterilizer operation
- Understanding of Sterrad sterilizers
- Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage
