Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) Supervisory Social Worker

The Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) Supervisory Social Worker establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships and exercises professional judgment to provide treatment for Veterans and will provide direct patient care. This care may include direct services to selected patients and/or selected treatment programs; diagnostic interviews, psychotherapy, and case management to Veterans; provider behavioral expertise and education; assess the need for referrals for additional services of mental health clients;

coordinate with providers within MHCL and TVHS when other care is involved.

Direct supervision of some of the interprofessional staff that comprise the RRTP treatment team, to include issuing performance appraisals, conducting performance reviews, approving leave, ensuring provider documentation is timely and appropriate, etc. In addition, the incumbent will assist the RRTP Program Manager in directing, administering, and managing all aspects of the program, including comprehensive planning, developing, and implementing programs, policies and procedures;

determining program needs; overseeing the type, quality and quantity of services provided; setting priorities; and establishing short and long-range program goals, initiatives, and direction.

Collaborate with discipline leads, including psychiatry, psychology, social work, primary care, and nursing by providing input in hiring, performance reviews, incentives, and discipline. The incumbent will collaborate with clerical supervisors for similar input.

Provides clinical consultation in utilizing evidence based therapeutic practices and clinical practice guidelines; creating a work environment that acknowledges and respects widely divergent interests, points of view and discipline perspectives; and providing support, encouragement, and direction to all staff. Supervisor will also triage and assign referrals for services in a systematic way, make treatment recommendations, monitor the provision of services to be delivered in a manner that meets VA guidelines and standards, and approve and certify timecards as needed.

7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday. Alternate Tours to be considered.

Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.

After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.

Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
