The IT Support Specialist provides hands‑on technical support to end users across the organization, supporting hardware, software, and related technology systems. Serving as the primary point of contact for assigned plant‑level technical support needs, this role ensures timely and effective issue resolution through strong communication, prioritization, and escalation practices.

Responsibilities
  • Build strong, collaborative working relationships with staff and leadership across all locations.
  • Deliver both onsite and remote technical support to internal users, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
  • Manage, track, and resolve support requests through the organization’s ticketing system.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laptops, desktops, peripherals, printers, and scanners, with a focus on manufacturing environments.
  • Partner closely with the Corporate Director of IT and other IT team members to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitor endpoint protection tools and respond promptly to security alerts or system issues.
  • Provide Tier 1 support for end‑user devices including VoIP phones, smartphones, handheld scanners, and printers.
  • Deliver Tier 1 application support for platforms such as Windows, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Acrobat
    , and other business applications.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for wired and wireless LAN/WAN connectivity issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of thermal printers within manufacturing facilities.
  • Follow established IT standards, policies, and best practices in all support activities.
  • Maintain strong awareness of IT security protocols and apply security principles consistently.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in IT support.
  • Be available during standard business hours to support operational needs.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and software applications quickly.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and manage time efficiently.
  • Hands‑on experience diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues in complex environments.
  • Skilled in documenting technical activities and maintaining configurations in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Flexible and able to adjust priorities, including occasional extended hours when needed.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, and related hardware.
  • Working knowledge of telephony systems, including Microsoft Teams and mobile devices.
  • Solid understanding of computer systems gained through education and experience, ideally within manufacturing and ERP environments.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain systems, processes, and documentation in compliance with quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Education & Experience
  • Associate’s degree or technical degree in Business Information Systems or a related field.
  • 5+ years of IT support experience within a mid‑sized organization.
  • Prior experience supporting manufacturing environments and ERP systems preferred.
  • Industry‑recognized technical certifications are a plus.
