Job Purpose:Maintains computing environment by identifying system requirements; installing upgrades; maintaining servers; monitoring system performance.
Credentials:High school diploma or GED. Must have a strong understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS. Must have experience building and maintaining systems. Must have practical exposure to storage and data management products, Intel based servers and storage and NAS technologies. Possess or obtain CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, or CCNA within 6 months of employment.
Other QualificationsAble to monitor IT infrastructure use and provide accountability, experience with backup solutions, thorough knowledge of good server and system principles, experience with operating system imaging technology, ability to maximize system availability and performance through fault‑tolerant configuration, efficient network architecture, and proactive server monitoring.
Physical Demands:Must have and maintain physical, sensory, emotional and mental abilities necessary for effective communication in person, in writing and by telephone. Must have good memory skills; be able to organize thoughts and activities, do basic mathematical computations; articulate clearly. Must be emotionally mature and able to appropriately handle stress.
Essential Job Functions- Establishes system specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing system infrastructure.
- Plans and executes the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating systems and system management systems; defines system and operational policies and procedures.
- Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning; troubleshooting hardware, software and operating systems; designing and running system load/stress tests; escalating application problems to vendor.
- Supports and maintains end‑user requirements, including troubleshooting and account maintenance.
- Collaborates with the infrastructure team to automate management tasks, streamline processes, and perform standard administration functions as needed.
- Secures system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishes and tests disaster recovery policies and procedures; completes backups; maintains documentation.
- Upgrades system by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports directly to the Director of Technology.
Terms of Employment:Twelve (12) months, salary and benefits set annually. Exempt.
