Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer – Murfreesboro, TN

AESC is looking to add a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer to our team in Murfreesboro, TN.

About the Role

AESC is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of cybersecurity across IT and OT environments. This hands‑on architect‑level role will secure enterprise infrastructure, manufacturing systems, and plant operations.

What You Will Do
  • Design, implement and maintain enterprise‑wide cybersecurity architecture for IT & OT.
  • Develop and maintain security standards, policies and frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, IEC 62443). Define network architecture for LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi.
  • Secure field assets and remote operations as AESC expands into deployed energy storage systems.
  • Evaluate and approve third‑party OT vendors (BMS, EMS, SCADA, inverters, cloud platforms). Conduct vendor risk assessments.
  • Design secure architectures for customer, utility and remote access to DC Block systems.
  • Develop cybersecurity standards, lifecycle management and governance for deployed assets.
  • Support incident response, vulnerability management and patching for field systems.
  • Implement centralized monitoring, logging and threat detection across deployed projects.
  • Support development of SOC and ROC capabilities for fleet‑wide monitoring and operations.
  • Ensure governance extends beyond manufacturing to address growing risk of deployed energy systems.
IT Infrastructure
  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive)
  • Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra )
  • Endpoints (laptops, mobile devices)
  • Secure VLAN segmentation, firewalls, L3/L2 switches
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Conditional Access & Zero Trust architecture
  • Vulnerability management and patching programs
OT Industrial Infrastructure
  • Maintain and enhance secure OT environments including MES, manufacturing systems, SCADA/PLC networks
  • Maintain and secure network segmentation between IT and OT
  • Ensure minimal disruption to production while enforcing security controls
  • Align with industrial cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST CSF)
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field. More than 5 years of experience in cybersecurity.

  • Microsoft 365 security ecosystem
  • Firewall and network design
  • Cloud security (Azure preferred)
  • Incident response focus
  • Microsoft 365 Defender and other tools
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead incident handling
  • Certifications:

    CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP, SANS GIAC, ITIL, ISO
    27001
  • Experience with application & software security
  • Experience in SaaS or technology service provider environments
  • Consultation‑task oriented experience
Nice to Have
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, CCIE
Travel

Occasional domestic travel may be desired.
