Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, and other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support analytic dashboards. Lead data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data timely.
Job Responsibilities- Lead technical requirements gathering and integration approach; communicate technical processes to business leaders and business needs to technical owners.
- Assemble large datasets of clinical outcomes for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, and other methods.
- Gather business requirements and build dashboard outputs using ETL-sourced data (agile).
- Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently on application software problems.
- Experience building ETL strategies across multiple EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DB experience including Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); working Internet knowledge.
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environment (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript programming/scripting.
- ETL tooling experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Leadership, communication, customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
