Supply Chain- Piney Flats, Tennessee
Bring your experience and ideas and help us ensure timely delivery of supplies and materials. You’ll be the key interface for subcontract administration of major systems and complex components for aircraft production, product upgrade and new program development.
You will work closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations to facilitate cost reduction initiatives that enhance the overall affordability and quality of our aircraft. This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and all organizations across Bell.
This position is onsite in Piney Flats, Tennessee.
What you’ll be doing as a Supply Chain Procurement Associate:- Responsible for executing standard purchasing procedures within an assigned commodity or supplier(s) to ensure the timely delivery of supplies and materials.
- Have responsibilities that include but are not limited to, purchase order management, competitive pricing adherence, inventory analysis, and provide input to the negotiation of long-term agreements.
- Utilize discretionary latitude within approved purchasing procedures and compliance for all contractual obligations regarding Bell Helicopter and the Supplier.
- Maintain comprehensive and current subcontracts that adhere to program requirements and obligations.
- Obtain and furnish supplier data to other functional disciplines and SCM / IPT (Integrated Product Team) management.
- Maintain and manage an open-order report for each supplier.
- Maintain comprehensive and current subcontracts, support purchase order management, competitive price adherence, and inventory analysis.
- Integrate with cross functional departments such as quality, engineering, manufacturing, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) through robust communication to gain essential understanding of the business.
- Utilize discretionary latitude within approved purchasing procedures and compliance for all contractual obligations regarding Bell Flight and the Supplier.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field required.
- Ability to travel up to 10% a year or as business needs dictate.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft application suite, as well as ability to quickly navigate multiple computer software modules, such as SAP and Ariba.
- Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
- A strong desire to work on issues pertaining to acquisitions, sourcing, negotiations, and cross functional teams.
- Excellent communicator; must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.
NOTE:
Bell/Textron Relocation Assistance is NOT available for this role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including typing, viewing screens, and navigating multiple software systems.
- Occasional movement throughout office and manufacturing environments, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs when visiting production areas or meeting with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to lift and carry small items (generally under 20 lbs), such as documents, laptops, or materials needed for meetings or supplier visits.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in group settings.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, which may involve driving or air travel and navigating supplier facilities.
- May require wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while in designated manufacturing or supplier areas.
- You’ll be off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule.
