Logistics Intern | MAHLE
The Tone:
This is an internship at MAHLE, located within an active manufacturing environment. MAHLE operates as a global company, dedicated to its role within this manufacturing context. This position is critically important for advancing key initiatives across warehouse and material flow operations, directly contributing to enhanced efficiency, improved accuracy, and continuous improvement within the logistics department. The intern will gain valuable, hands-on experience, with a strong and consistent emphasis on project execution performed directly on the shop floor.

This role is responsible for supporting key initiatives in warehouse and material flow operations to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across the department. - Tech Stack:

What Youll Actually Do
- Visual Tools Implementation:
Implement comprehensive visual communication tools across the department, including displaying critical shipping schedules on dock-area monitors to significantly improve team awareness regarding both inbound and outbound activity. - Warehouse Organization:
Assist diligently with various warehouse organization initiatives, encompassing verifying current bin locations, improving existing labeling systems for clarity, and actively supporting crucial bin audit processes. - Inventory Accuracy:
Help maintain and ensure accurate inventory and bin configurations within the system, including managing necessary updates related to HVAC warehouse changes and P4M rollout activities. - Yard Management Improvement:
Participate actively in ongoing yard management improvement efforts, supporting specific initiatives designed to reduce overall trailer count and enhance both trailer flow and utilization across the facility. - Shop Floor Optimization:
Work directly on the shop floor to meticulously observe existing processes, identify any potential inefficiencies, and subsequently help implement practical, real-time solutions to optimize operations.
The Must-Haves
- Background:
Entry-Level career stage. A demonstrated strong interest in the fields of logistics, supply chain management, warehousing, or manufacturing operations is essential. - Experience:
No specific prior years of experience are mandated; however, a solid proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with a preference for strong Excel skills, is required. - Skills:
Possesses strong organizational capabilities, effective problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and clear, strong communication abilities suitable for all levels of the organization. - Bonus: A proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented mindset, coupled with a genuine willingness to work directly on the shop floor. The ability to effectively balance project-based work with ongoing operational support in a varied and evolving environment is also highly valued.
