Salary Range: $46,858 - $50,286 Core Responsibilities
The Deputy Clerk - Circuit Court supports the Circuit Court Clerk by helping ensure accurate, timely, and impartial court operations in accordance with Tennessee statutes, local circuit court rules, and the U.S. Constitution.
Key responsibilities include maintaining court records with strong data-entry accuracy; processing filings and other case documents; updating and tracking cases through an electronic case management system to support case flow management; assisting the public and justice partners with clear, professional communication; and preparing routine correspondence and reports using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). You will also be responsible for a cash bag, receipting payments, and assisting driver's with their license requirements.
- Working knowledge of court policies, procedures, and relevant legal requirements
- Proficiency with electronic case management systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and record-keeping accuracy
- Strong written/verbal communication, customer service, and ability to work independently under general supervision.
You'll work onsite in Murfreesboro during standard weekday business hours, starting by reviewing the day's priorities and checking messages. Throughout the day, you'll shift between focused desk work and front-counter or phone interactions, keeping your approach calm, courteous, and consistent. You'll coordinate details with coworkers and court stakeholders as schedules and deadlines move, then wrap up by reconciling items that must be completed before close of business, so the next day begins organized and on track.
