Overview

Material Handler, United States – (Ooltewah, TN, Onsite). The Mining and Infrastructure Attachments division is a global leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing hydraulic attachment tools, ground engaging tools, and infrastructure battery-powered hand tools and attachments. In this role, your mission and responsibilities will be to:

Responsibilities
  • Layout, position, align and fit components into welding fixture as instructed.
  • Work with safe work practices to ensure own safety as well as co-workers’ safety.
  • Follow procedures for assigning inventory locations to parts, as well as delivering job orders.
  • Operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner to move material.
  • Complete inspections prior to routing goods to individual departments or storage in proper locations.
  • Complete necessary procedures to pick jobs and deliver parts to specified departments.
  • Notify specific individuals of parts shortages; late work orders or shipments; incorrect bills of materials; scheduling, purchasing, or sales errors; missing prints; missing parts, etc.
  • Incomplete paperwork to be completed daily, including necessary computer transactions using forms and procedures dealing with inventory movement through the department.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and know how to check against them.
  • Cycle count and troubleshoot errors, and kit/move product along the production area.
  • Manual lifting and movement of boxes, totes, and other containers weighing up to 33 lbs.
  • Perform all 5S duties and maintain acceptable 5S standards.
  • Understand and execute inventory paperwork and computer transactions as necessary.
  • Mobility to move within the department/plant as assigned.
Experience and requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Proven ability to operate forklifts safely.
  • Basic computer skills, specifically with performing inventory transactions, required.
  • Forklift certified or ability to successfully complete Epiroc approved forklift certification program.
  • Solid math and counting skills with emphasis on consistency and accuracy.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions.
  • Ability to assist production with assembly and machine completions.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills.
