Purpose Statement

Perform basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic repair and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.

  • Trouble shooting and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
  • Perform welding, cutting and soldering using electric and gas equipment.
  • Occasionally must work in refrigerated areas where temperature extremes can reach 10 degrees

    F.
  • Follow all GMP’s, food safety, and quality policies.
  • Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance.
  • Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.
  • Ensure compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed.
  • Record accurate and legible results on documentation
  • Provide adequate housekeeping at all times.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • 5 or more years of experience
  • HS Diploma with 5-years of experience or Industrial Maintenance Certification
  • Perform basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic repair, and preventative maintenance
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Special certification may be required for use of forklift
  • Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed
  • Basic math skills necessary
  • A high degree of judgment is required for this job.
  • Must occasionally test energized electrical equipment, or pressurized hydraulic devices to troubleshoot before repairing.
  • Mechanics must service equipment from elevated surfaces or from ladder with exposure to falls always present but wearing the appropriate PPE (Fall Protection)
Physical Capabilities
  • Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to lift 55bs
  • Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility
  • Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements. Works in high noise area and wears the appropriate hearing protection.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Exposed to cold/ heat/ humidity
  • Able to work in a multi shift environment
