ER Observation Unit Registered Nurse

The CDU Registered Nurse will provide and coordinate care for patients in the ER Observation Unit. The role requires collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to offer physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Daily duties include assessments and reassessments, developing individualized plans of care, medication administration, documentation, education, proper maintenance of equipment, and communication of patient needs.

• Perform patient rounding to maximize patient satisfaction and quality standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, appropriate assessment methods, treatment ranges, and care for patients across all ages served.
• Promote customer service initiatives.
• Utilize the nursing process for individualized care to meet patient needs.
• Perform technical skills and procedures required for the role.

• Minimum of 1 year of medical/surgical experience.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or another acceptable Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pursue and complete Med‑Surg certification within 1 year of hire.
