American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 12-week trauma emergency department assignment requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.
Details- Work in a hospital Emergency Department-Trauma unit
- Care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
- Evening shift from 15:00 to 03:30
- 12-week assignment length
- Uses cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
- Documents in the electronic health record
- Active TN or compact RN license
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- ACLS certification (AHA) required
- PALS certification (AHA) may be required
- TNCC certification may be preferred or required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required
- Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization of care based on severity and urgency
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as ordered
- Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Follow infection-control and medication-safety practices
- Participate in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives
- Radius rules apply and may affect pay rate for local candidates
