Quality Lab Technician
The Qualtiy Lab Technician supports production by performing in-process and final product testing to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. This role is responsible for accurate documentation, data entry, instrument calibration, and maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform in-process, raw material, and final product testing according to established methods and quality standards.
- Collect and label samples from production and storage areas, ensuring representative sampling and proper handling.
- Document all analyses clearly and accurately in laboratory notes and electronic databases.
- Input and maintain test data in shared drives to ensure traceability and data integrity.
- Perform instrument calibration, standardization, and routine maintenance according to SOPs.
- Monitor and manage laboratory hazardous waste streams, ensuring proper labeling, collection, and disposal per regulatory and company requirements.
- Participate in lab housekeeping, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist in the development and validation of new analytical methods as needed.
- Communicates test results promptly to production and quality teams.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in analytical accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
- Provide support during audits (ISO
9001, Halal, Kosher, internal, and external).
- B.S. degree in Chemistry or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a production or analytical laboratory environment preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to interpret data and make product release decisions independently.
- Effective verbal communication skills, including clear reporting of analytical results to production teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data entry, and maintaining accurate records to ensure data integrity and traceability.
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety, hazardous waste management, and strict adherence to written procedures and SOPs.
- Commitment to improving testing efficiency, equipment reliability, analytical capability, and overall quality and process understanding.
- Laboratory and production facility setting involving exposure to chemicals and lab equipment.
- Must follow all company safety policies, including the use of required PPE.
- May involve standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to elevating safety and environmental compliance.
