Receivers are responsible for all back‑room operations. They must be knowledgeable of all back‑room policies and procedures in order to manage all incoming and outgoing freight shipments and product efficiently. Receivers must receive product in a timely manner, work with a high level of accuracy and speed, and collaborate with all departments to ensure products are merchandised neatly as per company expectations.
Responsibilities- Support the company culture and drive our mission, vision, and values.
- Receive and stock merchandise accurately to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Process each electronic purchase order accurately by identifying and matching orders by vendor, style, size, dimension, and quantity to vendor packing slips, noting any discrepancies.
- Process each electronic transfer “IN” document accurately by identifying and matching each item to the received transfer “OUT” document, noting any discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain the barcode ticket printer, including weekly preventative maintenance.
- Print tags from the ticket printer on each document type, including miscellaneous barcode printing.
- Tag merchandise with the appropriate tools and supplies.
- Inspect footwear for defects and confirm proper pairing.
- Place mate labels correctly.
- File and manage all paperwork properly.
- Manage back‑stock merchandise movement.
- Handle return-to‑vendor and non‑returnable merchandise.
- Process and manage special order merchandise.
- Maintain a clean and organized back‑room at all times.
- Manage flow and filing of all required documents.
- Report receiving, shipping, and system problems to the proper authorities.
- Train and delegate responsibilities to stockers.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with supervisors to meet company goals (e.g., web order completion rate).
- Regularly raise or lower objects from one level to another during shift.
- Regularly carry objects up to 50 lbs and pick up objects up to 50 lbs.
- Comprehend basic instructions and interpret documents.
- Apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks.
- Understand meanings of words and respond effectively.
- Read and understand English.
- Stay alert during assigned work hours.
