Assistant General Manager – Buc‑ee’s, Ltd.

The Assistant General Manager provides and promotes a clean, friendly, and in‑stock experience for every customer. The assistant general manager leads the store team, upholds Buc‑ee’s standards in the absence of the store general manager, manages store personnel, ensures product quality, and promotes customer service. Assistants typically work a minimum 48‑hour work week that includes early mornings, afternoons, most weekends, and holidays.

• Perform duties and responsibilities of the Store General Manager in their absence or at the GM’s discretion.
• Illustrate competent knowledge of various point‑of‑sale and transaction devices.
• Resolve customer and employee issues quickly and in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assign and inspect shift‑duty list items.
• Communicate professionally with the Store General Manager and employees.
• Understand and apply federal, state, and local laws as they apply to retail sales and general employment matters.
• Assist the General Manager in recruiting, training, evaluating and managing employees.
• Ensure safety rules and regulations are implemented and followed.
• Accurately and rapidly use small keyboards on point‑of‑sale and transactional devices.
• Identify and resolve immediate customer and store needs without constant supervision.
• Effectively and efficiently complete tasks.
• Interact professionally with other team members.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
• Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Degree from college or university; or 1‑2 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
• Retail or management experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Prolonged walking and/or standing for 8‑12 continuous hours.
• Ability to work on the store’s busiest days, including most weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night.
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
