Overview:
MTA is looking for a hands-on Inside Sales Representative ready to do more than just take orders. You'll be responsible for outbound prospecting, new customer activation, and account development, while also helping lay the groundwork for a more structured and scalable inside sales program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make outbound sales calls and send follow-up emails to drive new business
  • Update ERP/CRM and ensure accurate reporting and activity visibility
  • Engage new customer accounts and ensure completion of credit/tax forms, provide login credentials, add to MTA marketing lists, and be sure they have access to the latest offers and incentives
  • Manage outreach to association member lists and other industry lead sources
  • Follow up on manufacturers rep group orders and encourage direct website ordering
  • Track and measure lead source activity, engagement and conversion through Hub Spot
  • Assist in the development of sales playbooks, onboarding materials, and training guides
  • Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring future inside sales team members
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Sales to ensure alignment and consistent customer messaging

    Qualifications:
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and aligned with MTA’s values of Humility, Persistence, Respect, and Lasting Relationships
  • Proven experience in inside sales, account management, or sales operations
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and prospecting for new business
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with CRMs (Hub Spot preferred), ERPs and Ring Central a plus
  • Able to lead by example while building a high-performing team
  • Experience working in a rental store, lawn & garden center, or hardware environment is a plus and will be considered an asset in understanding our customers’ needs and products.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn product details (e.g. power equipment, parts and accessories) a plus

Compensation & Schedule:
Salary + commission structure
Willingness to work a flexible, balanced schedule that supports outreach across multiple time zones—including occasional later shifts (e.g., 10 AM–7 PM CST) to accommodate West Coast customers and prospects.
