Product Manager - Automation Job Summary
Supports the day-to-day operations of Account Managers, Customer Service Reps, and customers by providing product, application, and technical support and service. Works closely with sales and marketing staff to meet sales and gross profit objectives. Regularly supports automation customers and makes joint sales calls to secure orders and perform other sales support functions.

- Collaborate with sales and marketing staff to meet and exceed sales and gross profit objectives.
- Conduct joint sales calls with Account Managers to secure orders and provide field support, application support, repair service, training, and other services.
- Consult customers on product and system applications; provide timely follow‑up on quotations and technical inquiries.
- Input TCCM cost‑savings documentation relevant to the assigned customer base.
- Maintain continuous contact with customers’ engineering staff, contractors, and consultants.
- Provide specialized product support for branches and customers.
- Participate in marketing, planning, and sale of technical products, including Schneider Electric Automation Products.
- Advise management on the implementation and success of marketing plans and strategies.
- Provide input on pricing, product needs, and market potential to sales and marketing staff.
- Evaluate new products and recommend stock levels for new and existing products.
- Lead customer and BSE employee training on new and existing automation product lines and applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain database and documentation files (engineering and technical records, TCCM savings, customer parts database, technical reference library, etc.).
- Evaluate and manage regional demo equipment and recommend new products.
- Assist with pricing, purchasing, inventory management, and procurement functions.
- Ensure demo equipment is functional and perform product updates and launches for branches and customers.
- Attend sales meetings, trade shows, and training programs as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designator.
- Minimum of a four‑year technical or engineering degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge and technical competence in electrical and hi‑tech industrial products and applications, including industrial automation software and hardware.
- Minimum of three years of electrical distribution and quotation experience, with comprehensive knowledge of BSE product lines and applications.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
- Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), Internet, Email, and SAP software.
- Consistently provide responsive, quality service that meets customer expectations.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to plan and organize effectively.
- Competence, accuracy, responsiveness, and engagement in customer service.
