Carpenter
The Carpenter's duties for the position are but not limited to:
- Design, fabrication and installation of cabinets, shelves, benches, displays, frames, etc.
- Incumbent sets door frames, hangs doors, cuts door openings in masonry walls, installs locks and panic hardware, lays floor tile, replaces/installs ceiling tile, mounts and adjusts door closers.
- Incumbent hangs and finishes drywall.
- Work consists of constructing walls, repairing damaged walls that contain holes, cracks, broken gypsum board; constructing and repairing plaster and drywall ceiling.
- Repairs/replaces floor tile and ceiling tile; repairs floors, expansion joints, furniture, etc.
- Responsible for the cleaning and proper care of all the tools and equipment he uses for safe work practices at all times to prevent injury to personnel or damage to government property.
- Skilled in the use of tools and equipment such as skill saws, cut-off and rip saws, drills, spray guns, planers, joiner, shaper, drill press and belt sander.
- This position requires the employee to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- The employee frequently lifts, carries and sets up equipment that weigh up to 10 pounds. Occasionally, the employee may handle materials that weigh 40 pounds or over.
- Employee will be a member of the travel team, and perform work at satellite locations throughout Middle Tennessee.

Physical Requirements:
The duties of this position require physical exertion involving lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying objects of varying weights, sizes and shapes. Working conditions include lighting, heating and ventilation in work area-Incumbent is exposed to heat, restricted ventilation and poor illumination in areas such as equipment rooms. Weather conditions to which exposed when working outdoors- temperatures to which exposed in the work area
- Dust, grease and soiling of clothing and skin surfaces
-noise and vibration- gases and fumes- hazards in the work environment.
