Position: General Maintenance Technician - Flooring Specialist I (Fort Campbell)

Winn Companies is searching for General Maintenance Technicians - Flooring Specialist I to join our team located at Fort Campbell, KY
.

In this role, you will assist with flooring installation, demolition, and repairs primarily during COM (Change of Occupancy Maintenance) and may perform repairs, cleaning or installations either at COM or as resident service requests.

You will also install carpet, carpet tiles, VCT, LVT, vinyl, linoleum, or other flooring materials and ensure that all service is performed safely and results in favorable customer feedback.

In accordance with the REAL , effective May 7, 2025, a REAL  driver’s license /  required in order to access the federal facility.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to Service/COM requirements and property management requirements.
  • Repair, clean, and install flooring (carpet, hard surface, or other).
  • Update work order status, including time, materials and notes on mobile devices provided in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Keep supervisor well‑informed of activities, results, problems identified, and potential problems, while recommending corrective actions to supervisor.
  • Maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed.
  • Transport, install, and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical and gas appliances.
  • Load and unload trucks and other conveyances; move supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stack materials for storage or binning; collect refuse and salvageable materials.
  • Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites.
  • Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames.
  • Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile, and plywood. Remove damaged drywall.
  • Dig, fill and tamp earth excavations; level grounds using pick, shovel, tamp and rake; shovel concrete; clean culverts and ditches; cut tree and brush; operate power tools and lawn mowers.
  • Operate power blowers or use brooms to clean roof tops, sidewalks and driveways of leaves and debris. Ensure work‑site clean up.
  • Respond to and complete on‑call after hour emergency and urgent repairs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1‑3 years of relevant work experience (trade experience, apprentice experience, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate basic competency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades at a minimum as assessed through written, verbal and hands‑on assessments.
  • Must qualify as “skilled” based on assessment in flooring cleaning, repair, or installation.
  • A current driver’s license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and write in English in order to understand basic instructions and take direction from supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical training.
  • 3‑5 years of experience in the flooring field.
