Independently maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace complex HVAC, refrigeration, and control systems for campus facilities. Perform advanced diagnostics, system installations, major equipment replacements, and controls work. Serve as a technical resource for lower-classification staff and ensure HVAC systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.

• Perform advanced preventive maintenance and system optimization
• Diagnose complex HVAC malfunctions and determine repair vs. replacement
• Install and replace HVAC equipment and control systems
• Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and DDC control work
• Read and interpret complex wiring schematics and control drawings
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized parts and services
• Verify work quality and assist in guiding lower classification technicians
• Respond to critical system failures and emergency situations

High school diploma or High School Equivalency

Significant experience with a wide variety of HVAC systems, or completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship

• EPA certification required
• Valid driver's license required.

410 A certification preferred
