Job Summary
Shaffer Trucking is hiring drivers to run the Southeast region and earn $.59 to $.62 CPM. Salary: top 50% average $75,261 per year. CPM: starting pay $.59 to $.62 per mile.
Experience:
One-year verifiable tractor trailer experience with a Class A CDL.
- Industry-leading pay: the most productive 50% of OTR drivers earn more than $101,176 annually ($1,945 weekly; $.66 to $.69 CPM).

Our miles are up significantly, and we need safe, experienced drivers to meet the needs of our customers.
Drivers are paid based on practical miles, earning 3‑5% more total miles per year than companies that pay based on short‑route miles.
Practical miles roll in faster now that we’ve recently raised our governed truck speed to 68
MPH on the cruise and 65
MPH on the pedal.
Drivers typically stay with us three times longer than the competition.
