Warehouse Management Specialist (Murfreesboro, TN)
The Warehouse Management Specialist (WMS) is responsible for supporting production and processing with the flow of raw materials and packaging through the facility. They verify operator documentation, control losses, maintain inventory accuracy, and carry out continuous cycle counting.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality, as applicable and defined in plant and department procedures.
- Verify and maintain proper inventory accuracy to meet internal and external customer needs.
- Ensure all required inventory counts are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prevent material shortages or downtime resulting from inventory discrepancies or inaccuracy.
- Ensure all reports/tasks are completed on time and accurately.
- Compare inventories and research discrepancies between Warehouse Management Systems and SAP.
- Provide timely and accurate information on raw material losses.
- Understand material ordering process and the role/responsibility of the offsite materials warehouse.
- Review and validate milk base batching sheets, consume materials to processing batch orders.
- Validate pallets produced per production, consume materials into production order.
- Teco (confirm production orders completed/closed) and final verification of high losses for accounting purposes.
- File management of OCS and batching sheets to support traceability audits.
- Assist production and warehouse in correcting quantities for finished goods pallets.
- Perform various work investigations, solve problems, collect data, and complete work assignments as needed.
- Ensure physical counts of raw materials for inventory control take place and necessary adjustments to include STO/COGI are completed timely.
- Assist operators with all WMS issues; schedule changes to meet demands, current tasks, relocations, etc.
- Manage the inventory and disposal of obsolete materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution desirable.
- 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse management systems within a manufacturing environment desirable.
- Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of SAP required.
- Ability to flex schedule as needed to meet business demands, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
- Ability to operate in a team environment.
