The City of Murphy Public Works Department seeks to add a Crew Leader to its dynamic team! As our Crew Leader, you will direct and participate in the work activities of personnel performing equipment operations, technical skills and manual labor, while controlling those tasks required to perform construction, maintenance and repair of the City’s Water and Wastewater Systems, Streets and Stormwater Systems and Traffic Control Devices (Public Works Systems).

This position works a standard schedule of Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm. MUST be able for emergency response and on‑call duties.

This opportunity is FLSA non‑exempt and budgeted on Pay Grade #27. The pay plan range below is shown to represent opportunities for growth and development within this opportunity. We are seeking to hire between the Min to Mid-range of the pay grade shown dependent upon qualifications.

• Directs work activities of Maintenance Workers I and II who perform work on the City’s Public Works Systems. Inspects work being performed by subordinates to ensure compliance with City and Department standards and policies.
• Operates and oversees all vehicles, equipment, and machinery used in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of the City’s Public Works Systems.
