Family Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

This position is with Shawnee Health and will serve the organization in Murphysboro, Illinois (Jackson County).

We are looking for a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is passionate about providing high‑quality, comprehensive care to all individuals. The team values respect and compassion, aiming to create a supportive and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

• Providing comprehensive preventive care and education for patients of all ages
• Diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions including chronic disease and illnesses
• Providing women’s health services and family planning
• Prescribing and managing patient medications
• Ordering tests and initiating internal and external referrals
• Maintaining detailed, accurate, and timely patient records and contributing to organizational metrics and quality measures
• Collaborating with a team of health professionals to ensure high‑quality patient care

• Highly interested in providing family‑oriented primary care to patients from infant to older age
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate and up‑to‑date electronic health records
• Support for the mission and values of Shawnee Health

• A Nurse Practitioner Master’s Degree or Physician Assistant Master’s Degree
• Board certification in the appropriate field
• Current State of Illinois controlled‑substance and Federal DEA licensure

• Minimum of two years’ experience in Family Medicine with the above certification
