Overview
Travel Registered Nurse, Med Surg, Murphysboro, Illinois. Start date 07/27/2026 for a 13‑week assignment. Weekly pay range $1,781–$1,910. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 3x12-hour nights, with every other weekend and every other holiday. Setting: a Critical Access Hospital with a blended Med/Surg unit including swing bed patients and occasional PCU-level care.

07/27/2026 - Facility setting:
Critical Access Hospital Med/Surg unit with Swing Bed program and PCU coverage
- Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in a blended unit (Med/Surg, Swing Bed, and occasional PCU cases)
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, monitor patient status, and respond to clinical changes
- Manage IV therapies and infusion devices; monitor for complications and document findings in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with the health care team, participate in rounds and handoffs, educate patients and families, and document care and progress
- Maintain patient safety and comfort by adhering to infection prevention, mobility, fall prevention, and symptom management protocols
- Align assignments with patient acuity and staffing guidance, maintaining unit ratios such as 1:5 for Med/Surg and 1:3–4 for PCU when appropriate
- Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois
- Ability to work the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on a 3x12 schedule, with every other weekend and holiday
- Willingness to care for a blended Med/Surg unit including Swing Bed and PCU patients
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer tasks
- Dedicated travel nurse support and assignment coordination
- Credentialing assistance and ongoing recruiter support
- Access to resources to facilitate a smooth assignment start and ongoing travel support
- Extension opportunities may be discussed based on unit needs and performance
