We are seeking a hands-on, analytical Plant Accounting Manager to support site-level accounting operations and partner closely with plant leadership.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manufacturing accountant who enjoys creating structure, improving processes and navigating change. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, can dig into complex data and is energized by helping build a finance function from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close activities for assigned manufacturing facilities.
- Manage plant-level general accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and account analyses.
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting and fixed asset accounting
- Manufacturing variance analysis
- Support plant-level AP and AR activities in partnership with centralized accounting resources.
- Develop and maintain KPI reporting and operational dashboards for plant leadership.
- Partner with Plant Managers to provide financial insights and recommendations that improve operational performance.
- Analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with ERP implementation, data migration and systems transition initiatives.
- Create and improve accounting processes, controls and reporting structures.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, financial analysis and month-end close.
- Experience working in environments undergoing change, transformation or system implementations.
- Ability to analyze incomplete or messy data and make sound recommendations.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
