Summary Of Job Duties And Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Alumni Communication and Outreach, under the supervision of the Director of Alumni Relations, develops, plans and executes strategic content, multi‑channel alumni communications and digital engagement, exercising creativity and independent judgment, adaptability, and decision‑making while maintaining alignment with University Advancement priorities.
- Develop and implement multi-channel communication strategies with consistent messaging and branding, including segmented outreach to alumni, donors, friends and other constituencies of the University.
- Assess, track, and report alumni communication and outreach metrics to evaluate participation, effectiveness, and return on effort.
- Develop, write, edit, and manage content for alumni website, e-newsletters, social media platforms, publications, and other communications.
- Ensure all communications align with branding and editorial standards. Copyedit content following AP and institutional guidelines.
- Assist Assistant Director of Alumni Relations in executing communication requests with colleges and academic units. Collaborate with Advancement Services on data requests, segmentation, and distribution where needed.
- Manage official alumni social media accounts. Create and oversee a Social Media Ambassadors program. Monitor trends and analytics to improve engagement.
- Develop promotional materials and support planning and execution of alumni engagement events.
- Support strategic events and activities as needed, including Homecoming, Tent City and class reunions, Distinguished Alumni, Distinguished Professor, Top 22 Under 40, Golden Horseshoe awards, athletics‑related alumni events, and other University-sponsored programs.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation related to programs, policies, projects, and special events.
- Other duties as assigned.
