Summary ofJob Duties and Responsibilities
Support of sponsored award accounting and compliance including ensuring all charges are compliant, preventing over or under-spending of awards, and contributing regular support through entry and analysis of data within various sponsor and university financial-related systems. Will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer serve through timely response and follow-up related to these duties.
- Monitors and ensures adherence to all institutional and federal compliance regulations, including IACUC and IRB protocols, to maintain research integrity and institutional eligibility.
- Manages the no-cost extension lifecycle by coordinating directly with Principal Investigators (PIs) and Grants Accounting.
- Facilitates budget revisions and carryover requests by analyzing fiscal constraints, verifying sponsor terms, and works with PI on regulations and policies. Coordinates the administrative and financial continuation processes for multi-year awards and works with Sponsored Programs and Grants Accounting to ensure progress reports and financial statements are submitted on time.
- Sends FOAPAL Memo to Grants Accounting when an award is received.
- Liaison and communicate with Project Officer with PI on issues.
- Reviews and helps maintain with Grants Accounting the institutional Post-Award Policies and Procedures.
- Works with Legal Counsel on contracts requiring signature.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience in grants management, compliance, auditing, or financial administration.
- Bookkeeping experience required
- Keyboarding, office procedures, and microcomputer
- Independent worker, excellent interpersonal skills, writing, and editing skills are required.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
- Grant experience strongly preferred.
