DescriptionJob Description:
Assumes direct supervision of staff in the sterile processing department and works in conjunction with the Manager and/or Director of Perioperative Services to receive, decontaminate, assemble and reprocess supplies, instruments and equipment for disinfection and sterilization. Inspects and reassesses instruments and equipment for reprocessing. Distributes trays and supplies in a timely manner and assist with laparoscopic, endoscopic, and arthroscopic equipment set up and retrieval of trays in the operating rooms to facilitate case start and room turn over.
Sterilizes trays, instruments and supplies according to established procedures. Processes, incubates, interprets, and records autoclave biological/chemical testing devices.
Certifications:
- BLS certification maintained.
- High school diploma (must be willing to complete certification as registered sterile supply technician within one year of hire date). Preference will go to individuals who already hold CRCST/CST certification and who have previous supervisory experience.
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
