Position: Shuttle Driver – Intermountain Medical Center (DOT Required) $15 - $18.50/HR + Tips

Job Details

Compensation: Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location. The hourly base pay range for this position is $15 to $18.50 per hour plus tips.

Work Schedule: The work schedule for this position is 6am to 3pm, Monday through Friday.

Summary

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting guests to and/or from the hotel, hospital or casino and local area in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner using safe driving practices, as well as assisting guests with luggage and maintaining vehicle logs.

Essential Functions
  • Shuttle guests to approved locations, learn and remember pick-up and destination points, knowledge of property outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, main attractions, parking rates 40%.
  • Communicate by telephone, two-way radio, in person with guests, staff, and co-workers in a courteous and friendly manner; acknowledge guests within 30 seconds, use guest last name, maintain professional demeanor 20%.
  • Operate a vehicle that seats fifteen people or less, inspect exterior and interior at shift start, monitor condition, record malfunctions, submit to manager 20%.
  • Protect guest confidentiality per HIPPA, secure client financial info, provide assistance only, check and clean wheelchairs, assist patrons with vehicle entry/exit, use specialized equipment if required 20%.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Required Licensure and Certification:

  • Pass criminal background, MVR, drug screen, and other client requirements.
  • Age at least 21 due to vehicle leasing contract.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and annual/semiannual MVR checks.
  • Complete Wheelchair Safety Training as applicable.
  • Possess current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Maintain up-to-date license, DOT endorsements, and bi-annual physical exam as applicable.

Work Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.

Knowledge: Ability to drive manual transmission.

Skills:

  • Read and write standard English language.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to guests, clients, employees.
  • Perform basic arithmetic with cash.
  • Understand 24-hour and military time systems.
  • Understand rates applicable to time passed.
Scope

Authority to Act: Job is routine; follows established procedures; decisions within operational instructions and departmental guidelines.

Budget Responsibility: Employee has control over limited resources.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Physical Requirements: Regularly talk/ hear; sit/stand for extended periods; may run, walk; handle objects; reach, climb stairs; basic vision requirements.

Lifting Requirements: Up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds constantly.

Working Environment: Majority outdoor; exposure to heat/cold; weather protection not guaranteed.

Travel: Up to 5% may be required.
