Medical Equipment Repair Technician – Rotech Healthcare

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Repair Technician to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, device calibrations and other preventive maintenance on specified healthcare equipment. You will ensure all devices are clean, up to date, and calibrated to manufacturer and Rotech specifications.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately update work orders with parts, labor, calibration results, device checklists, status changes and movements in the Service Manager system using barcode scanning and other data entry methods.
  • Adhere to and implement all company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, vendors and other departments verbally and in writing to ensure questions and concerns are processed timely.
  • Determine repair feasibility compared to manufacturing guidelines and set repair priorities based on device need and cost.
  • Establish relationships with department peers and other departments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse working environment.
  • Maintain records as required to comply with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain working relationships with manufacturers to keep device software and calibration procedures current.
  • Pass and maintain vendor training classes and become certified per manufacturing requirements.
  • Perform physical inventory cycle counts and periodic inventory.
  • Manage physical movement of products within the service center to keep an orderly flow to the distribution team.
  • Practice safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Provide technical support to locations for equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain tools and testing equipment necessary for repairs and calibrations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment to meet manufacturer guidelines and specifications.
  • Understand and evaluate electrical systems via electronic meter.
  • Understand the integration and dependencies of repair center operations with the Service Manager System.
  • Volunteer and perform additional duties as required or assigned.
  • Work well with a team and all coworkers.

Qualifications
  • Employment is contingent on:

    • Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process (when applicable).
    • Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable).
  • Required Education and/or

    Experience:
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Preferred Education and/or

    Experience:
    • Experience in medical field, distribution, medical devices and inventory management.
    • One year of related work experience.
  • Skills and

    Competencies:
    • Perform simple mathematical calculations accurately.
    • Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written.
    • Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, visual).
    • Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and caution with sensitive information.
    • Multi-task with attention to detail.
    • Self-motivated, organized, time‑management and deductive problem‑solving skills.
    • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities:
    • Operate handheld barcode scanners and Service Manager System functions.
    • Use oxygen analyzers, flow meters, RMS multimeters, power supplies, and testing devices.
    • Utilize material handling equipment.
    • Use email, internet navigation and research tools.
    • Use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
    • Use office equipment (fax, copier, printer, phone).
  • Physical Demands:
    • Extensive walking, standing, and working on one’s feet for extended periods.
    • Lift individual boxes up to 60 lbs as necessary.
    • Use hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, drill drivers, crimpers).
    • Require close visual acuity for small print on computer/tablet and paperwork.
    • Operate in warehouse and office environments; primarily indoors, some outdoor work may be required.
