The IC/PI RN under the direction of the Director of Quality/Risk Management is responsible for supervising and coordinating the multiple facets of the Infection prevention program for acute care, hospice, and physician practices. As a delegate of the Environment of Care Committee, the infection control staff assures a high quality of patient care by eliminating infection risks to patients and personnel.

The RN educates employees regarding infection control measures and isolation policy and evaluates the need for monitoring programs in any given area.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program required.

Minimum Work Experience

Three to five years experience as an infection control preventionist preferred.

Required Licenses

Registered Nurse in good standing with the Kentucky Board of Nursing or compact states.
