Job Description
Oversees staff performance, manages staffing, hiring, orientation, and discipline while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Manages budgets and resources, maintains appropriate staffing and understands healthcare finance. Leads and supports performance and quality improvement initiatives, implements evidence-based practice changes, and ensures compliance with professional standards and hospital policies. Utilizes critical thinking and technology in decision-making, problem-solving, and integrating new systems to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Provides strong leadership and mentorship, ensures high-quality clinical care, supports staff development, and maintains clear communication and planning for patient care delivery.
- Must have excellent customer service/communication skills
- Must have the ability to develop outstanding rapport and work well with physicians and staff
- Must be able to maintain focus on Patient Experience
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, OSHA, Specialty Standards) strongly preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and present information to both large and small groups
- Computer knowledge and skills;
Cerner medical record experience preferred - Maintain clinical competencies and is able to fully assist at the bedside
- Collaborates with leadership and staff to define and refine goals consistent with the organization's mission and goals, taking into consideration all populations served
- Empowers and supports staff in educational offerings related to career growth and professional development
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors and attitudes consistent with the organization's philosophy, mission, and goals
- Demonstrates knowledge of state, federal, and regulatory standards that guide services by ensuring compliance through updating policies, practices, and procedures
- Supervises and develops work schedules, monitors utilization of resources, and participates in budget oversight with a focus on cost-saving measures
- Demonstrates high level of prioritization, time management, and the ability to take corrective action when necessary
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
- Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
- Field of Study:
Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiologic Technology or Respiratory Therapy
- 1+ critical care, emergency experience [Required]
- 1+ years related experience [Required]
- 2+ leadership experience [Preferred]
- 2+ years related experience [Preferred]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Required]
- Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) [Preferred]
- Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL-E) [Preferred]
