Job Description
The Store Manager is responsible for sales and profitability of the store and directly supervises associates in a Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts retail store. Duties include purchasing, budgeting, accounting, personnel work, and supervisory duties. The Store Manager also provides over‑the‑counter direct sales to customers, takes orders in‑person and by phone, and supports overall success of store operations through promotion of sales programs and customer and team‑related activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing services for customers.
- Monitor sales activities to ensure customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods, calling on and visiting customers as required by business needs or assigned by the District Manager.
- Generate new sales accounts by cold calling and visiting potential customers.
- Grow store profits with current customers by suggesting new products and promotions.
- Maintain and submit call logs as required by the District Manager.
- Accurately inventory, stock, and reorder when inventory drops to a specified level.
- Instruct staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales.
- Assign employees to specific duties.
- Hire, train, and evaluate personnel in stores, promoting, disciplining, and terminating workers when appropriate.
- Ensure responsiveness to requests and compliance with company policies.
- Run the store in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Perform work activities of subordinates, such as cleaning and organizing shelves and displays and selling merchandise.
- Attend virtual and in‑person meetings and training sessions.

Directly supervises 2-25 employees in the store. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least 2 years of auto parts experience; management experience preferred; ASE certifications preferred.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
